Former England captain Geoffrey Boycott questions the current side's mental attributes following the second Test defeat to Pakistan.

Geoffrey Boycott has claimed that England's performance in the 72-run Test defeat to Pakistan is one of the worst that he has seen.

The former England captain made the statement after Andrew Strauss's team were bowled out for 72 despite seeming to be in a winning position and questioned the mental attributes of the batting lineup.

Boycott said: "I've seen some poor performances in 25 years of playing and 23 years of commentating and that's as bad as I've seen.

"What a load of rubbish. You have to see it to believe it how poor it was.

"[Jonathan] Trott and [Alastair] Cook played okay and [Matt] Prior played okay at times but clearly the others have a problem mentally.

There is one Test remaining in the series, which Pakistan now lead 2-0.
