Anna Sloan praises 'great team effort'

Anna Sloan praises a "good team effort" shown by Great Britain's women's curling team.

Great Britain women's curling third Anna Sloan has admitted that she "never had any doubt" skip Eve Muirhead would make her match-winning shot against Switzerland.

Team GB picked up a bronze medal following the victory, becoming the youngest team to ever win a medal at the Winter Olympics.

Sloan puts this down to the character shown by her teammates, just one day after losing against Canada to end any dreams of gold medal success.

"I never had any doubt when Eve was over that last stone," the 23-year-old told is quoted as saying by TeamGB.com. "We played a great last end and it was such good team effort. Eve always says give me a draw and I'll make it and it was such great team effort.

"We were devastated yesterday and it shows our team spirit that we could rebound from that loss. There was no way we were leaving here without a medal. We wanted the gold but it shows the spirit of our team to pick ourselves up and a bronze medal feels amazing right now."

Great Britain have now won three medals at the Sochi Games, and are guaranteed at least a silver after the men's curling side made it through to tomorrow's final.
