Team GB men's curling team reach final

Great Britain's men's curling team reach the Olympic final after beating Sweden 6-5.

Great Britain's men's curling team have reached the gold medal final at the Winter Olympics after beating Sweden 6-5 in the semi-finals.

Britain stole in the first end to take a 1-0 lead, but a mistake from skip David Murdoch in the third end allowed Sweden's Niklas Edin to put his team 2-1 ahead.

Edin had the opportunity to score three at the close of the sixth end after a heavy shot from Murdoch, but the Swedish skip's effort clipped a British stone to give Murdoch's men the steal.

Britain maintained their one-point advantage in the eighth end, taking one with their final stone as they opted to give Sweden the hammer in the ninth.

Sweden took two with the hammer to go into the final end 5-4 ahead, but a mistake by Edin with the penultimate stone allowed Murdoch the opportunity to take the two that Britain needed to go through.

The skip held his nerve as he accurately delivered his final stone into the zone to seal the victory.

Britain will face Canada in the final on Friday.
