Ole Einar Bjoerndalen picks up 12th Olympic medal with biathlon 10km sprint

Ole Einar Bjoerdalen of Norway wins the biathlon men's 10km sprint and becomes the joint-most decorated Winter Olympian of all time.

Norway's Ole Einar Bjoerdalen won his seventh Winter Olympic goal medal with victory in the biathlon men's 10km sprint today.

Despite picking up a one-second penalty, the 40-year-old finished 1.3 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor with a time of 24:33.5.

Dominik Landertinger of Austria took the silver medal with a time of 24:34.8 and Jaroslav Soukup of the Czech Republic claimed the bronze medal after finishing with a time of 24:39.2.

In winning, the Einar Bjoerdalen has become the joint most decorated Winter Olympian of all time, with 12 medals in total to his name.
