Team GB slopestyle duo finish sixth and tenth, Team USA wins gold

Team GB duo Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan finish in sixth and tenth place respectively in the first ever Olympic Snowboard Slopestyle final.

Team GB duo Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan have finished in sixth and tenth place respectively in the first ever Olympic Snowboard Men's Slopestyle final.

Nicholls was in second place after the first run at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park, securing a score of 85.50, but he wasn't able to build on this during the second attempt, achieving a score of 46.50.

Meanwhile, Morgan hit the ground during his first run and secured a score of 38, and although his second run yielded more points, his score of 39.75 wasn't able to elevate him in the standings.

Team USA snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg secured the first gold medal of the Sochi Winter Olympics with his first run score of 93.50, while second-placed Staale Sandbech and third-placed Mark McMorris secured runner-up medals for Norway and Canada respectively.
