Norwegian biathlon competitor Ole Einar Bjorndalen is bidding to become the most successful athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics.
Bjorndalen has amassed a total of 39 medals, with 25 of those gold at the Olympic Games and at the World Championships.
The 40-year-old holds the record for the number of victories in World Cup events with 93, with one medal in Sochi making him the joint most successful cross-country skier ever alongside countryman Bjorn Daehli.
Two medals at the Games, however, will see Bjorndalen make history as the most decorated Winter Olympian of all time.
