Feliciano Lopez ousts John Isner to reach fourth round at Wimbledon

Feliciano Lopez beats John Isner in four tough sets to make it through to the fourth round at Wimbledon.

Feliciano Lopez has defeated John Isner in four tough sets to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon.

The Spaniard, who is seeded 19th, will now face Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka for a place in the quarter-finals.

Both players gave little away during a cagey opening set that was dominated by their respective serves, but Isner was able to take the tie-break 10-8 to gain the lead.

Isner squandered four break points in the second before it was decided by another tie-break, though this time it was Lopez who came through 8-6 to level the contest.

With the two men continuing to prove difficult to budge, Lopez took the third on a tie-break 7-3 before an elusive break allowed him to seal the win 7-5 in the fourth.
