Greg Rusedski: Andy Murray has the tools to win Wimbledon

Greg Rusedski is confident that Andy Murray can become Wimbledon champion but he must win a psychological battle to get there.

Former British pro Greg Rusedski believes that Andy Murray is good enough to win Wimbledon but he must not get distracted by the media attention surrounding his campaign.

The 25-year-old, who is yet to win a grand slam, has had a tough run-up to the elite tournament due to a recurring back injury that has hampered his season so far.

"Murray has the tools to win Wimbledon, he just needs to change his mind-set and deal better with the psychological aspects of the game," Rusedski told the Guardian.

"My advice for him is: don't listen to what the media is saying about you, don't read the newspapers and don't turn on the TV - well, except maybe to watch the football. It's vital to shut yourself off from the hype and criticism.

"You have to put yourself in a bubble during these two weeks because everybody wants a piece of you. That's where Murray has to get a little bit selfish if he's to win a major."

Murray commences his Wimbledon campaign tomorrow against Nikolay Davydenko in the first round.
