Roger Federer has revealed that he is "very happy" to reach the second round of Wimbledon following his straight-sets win over Paolo Lorenzi.
The seven-time champion was rarely troubled on Tuesday as he eased past the Italian 6-1 6-1 6-3.
"I'm very happy getting through my first round," Federer told BBC Sport. "I thought I played very well. What you want to feel is inspired and motivated. I'm trying to win the tournament, that's what I'm here for."
Federer, who is seeded fourth at SW19, will meet either Luxembourg's Gilles Muller or Frenchman Julien Benneteau for a place in round three.
