Britain's Daniel Evans insists that he is ready for Wimbledon, after an encouraging performance at the Queen's Club tournament.

Britain's Daniel Evans has admitted that he is pleased with his performance at the Queen's Club tennis tournament this week.

The 23-year-old was beaten 6-0 6-3 by Juan Martin del Potro today, but reached the third round thanks to a three-set win over Jarkko Nieminen.

He will have to enter Wimbledon at the qualifying stage but is not worried, despite the fact that his last two appearances at the event came courtesy of a wildcard.

"This week has been good," Evans told The Guardian.

"It puts me up the rankings a little bit and gives me a bit of a benchmark to try and reach, and a bit of a platform as well, especially after yesterday's match [against Nieminen].

"It wasn't an accident that I won matches here and in Nottingham [against young American Ryan Harrison]. I have been working hard and I'm raring to go."

Wimbledon begins on June 24, with the qualifying matches taking place a week beforehand.
