Sam Stosur has booked her place in the semi-finals of the US Open with a straight-sets victory over second seed Vera Zvonareva.
The Australian served strongly throughout the match as her opponent was unable to conjure a single break point, with Stosur taking the first set 6-3.
The number nine seed stayed consistent during the second to see off the Russian 6-3 again to set up an encounter with either Flavia Pennetta or Angelique Kerber.
The win ensures Stosur's first ever appearance at a Grand Slam semi-final.
