Serena Williams has blasted her way into a sixth US Open final with a convincing straight-sets victory over Sara Errani.
It took the American fourth seed just 32 minutes to claim the opening set as 18 winners helped her to a 6-1 scoreline.
Williams broke the Errani serve again at the start of the second and then broke once more to take a 4-1 lead thanks to a powerful backhand that the Italian 10th seed couldn't deal with.
The 30-year-old came through the remaining games comfortably to win 6-2 and book her place in Saturday's final against world number one Victoria Azarenka.
If Williams wins that match she will move up to joint third on the all-time list of women's singles champions in the Open era at Flushing Meadows with four titles.
