Victoria Azarenka has revealed that she is excited by her first US Open final after she beat Maria Sharapova in the semi-finals on Friday night.
The world number one saw off the 2006 champion in three sets inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium to extend her winning streak to 12-0 in three-set matches this year.
"I was just trying to grab the first opportunity. Maria is such a great player," said the Australian Open champion. "But then I started to place the ball well and I found my rhythm.
"It's my first final and I'm so excited, but I don't want to leave yet."
Azarenka will meet either Serena Williams or Sara Errani on Saturday to contest the final Grand Slam of the year.
