Bernard Tomic cruises into Sydney second round at Marcel Granollers expense

Bernard Tomic reaches the second round of the Sydney International with a comfortable straight-sets win over Marcel Granollers.

Bernard Tomic has booked a place in the second round of the Sydney International by overcoming Marcel Granollers 6-3 6-0 at the Ken Rosewall Arena.

The Australian pro demonstrated a number of powerful returns to grab the first break of serve and put Granollers on the backfoot, which the Spaniard failed to recover from.

After going a set down, Granollers attempted a comeback, but he was immediately thwarted when he lost his opening serve, while Tomic went from strength to strength.

The 21-year-old was able to seal his place in the next round with ease, preventing Granollers from getting one game on the board.
