Carla Suarez Navarro withdrawal hands Andrea Petkovic victory in Antwerp

Carla Suarez Navarro withdraws from the Paribas Fortis Diamond Games final due to a neck injury, handing victory to third seed Andrea Petkovic.

Andrea Petkovic has lifted the Paribas Fortis Diamond Games trophy without even hitting a ball in this afternoon's final.

The third seed, who overcame Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova in straight sets yesterday to advance through, was due to play Carla Suarez Navarro in Antwerp, but her Spanish opponent pulled out with a neck injury.

It is an unlikely win for Petkovic having survived eight match points in a second-round victory over Belgian wildcard Alison Van Uytvanck earlier in the competition.

She will now break back into the top 10 in the world when the latest rankings are revealed later this week.
