Caroline Wozniacki beats Andrea Petkovic 6-3 6-2 in the third round of the US Open to set up a tie against the winner of Maria Sharapova and Sabine Lisicki's clash.

Caroline Wozniacki has booked her place in the fourth round of the US Open following a straight-sets victory over Andrea Petkovic.

The Dane broke her opponent three times as she took the opening set 6-3 in under 40 minutes.

In the second set, Wozniacki broke early on to take a 3-0 lead, before holding on to win 6-2 against the German.

Wozniacki will now face the winner of Maria Sharapova and Sabine Lisicki's third-round tie.
