Richard Gasquet battles through at Rotterdam Open

Richard Gasquet has battled into the second round of the Rotterdam Open thanks to a three-set victory over Thiemo de Bakker.

Dutch wildcard De Bakker claimed the opening set 7-6(5), but Gasquet fought back to take the second 7-6(2).

The French fourth seed then established an important break in the decider before going on to seal his progress 6-3.

Gasquet will now meet Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber for a spot in the quarter-finals.
