Novak Djokovic into China Open quarter-finals

Defending champion Novak Djokovic beats Vasek Pospisil 6-3 7-5 to reach the China Open quarter-finals.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic has made it through to the China Open quarter-finals with a straight-sets victory over Canadian Vasek Pospisil.

The top seed broke early during the opening set and he broke again in the ninth game to close it out 6-3 inside 33 minutes.

He then dropped his serve midway through the second as Pospisil moved into a 5-3 lead, but the Wimbledon champion won the next four games to seal the victory 6-3 7-5.

Djokovic, who has won the tournament four times in the last five years, will now meet either Grigor Dimitrov or Pablo Andujar in the next round.
