Wimbledon joins the other three Grand Slams in pledging to double its funding for anti-doping programmes as tennis bids to get tough in the war on drug cheats.

All four major Grand Slams are reportedly planning to double their financial contribution to anti-doping programmes in an effort to catch drug cheats in tennis.

A meeting of all the sport's major governing bodies is scheduled to take place in New York next month, where proposals to increase funding for drug prevention will be made concrete.

The All England Club will lead a tougher stance by offering to increase their funding by 100%, according to the Daily Mail.

A number of leading players in both men's and women's tennis have called for more frequent tests and tighter restrictions to stamp out any opportunity to cheat.

Andy Murray has led calls for stricter rules and declared earlier this month that the time was right to increase testing across the board.
