Maria Sharapova has pulled out of the WTA Championships in Istanbul with a reoccurring ankle injury.
The 24-year-old made the decision following her defeat to Li Na in straight sets this evening, her second loss in as many days.
She originally sustained the injury to her left ankle during a match against Petra Kvtiova in Tokyo earlier this month.
Her place in the White Group has been take by world number nine Marion Bartoli.
