Ana Ivanovic fights back to beat Yaroslava Shvedova

Seventh seed Ana Ivanovic recovers from a slow start to see off Yaroslava Shvedova in three sets in the French Open first round.

Ana Ivanovic has recorded a three-set win over Yaroslava Shvedova in the first round of the French Open.

The seventh seed dropped the opening set before storming back to see off her Kazakh opponent by a 4-6 6-2 6-0 scoreline.

Ivanovic has struggled during the clay-court season with just two wins being recorded in three tournaments, and the Serbian looked in trouble after she was broken by Shvedova to concede the opening set.

However, the 2008 champion responded by breezing through the second to get back on level terms before she quickly established a 3-0 advantage in the decider.

Shvedova had no answer to the improvement in Ivanovic's game and the former world number one soon secured her place in round two.
