David Ferrer pleased with consistent display at French Open

David Ferrer admits that he was pleased with his consistency during Tuesday's win over Igor Sijsling at the French Open.

David Ferrer has admitted that he was pleased with his consistent performance during Tuesday's win over Igor Sijsling at the French Open.

The fifth seed booked his place in the second round at Roland Garros courtesy of a 6-4 6-3 6-1 victory over the Dutch world number 55.

"It is nice coming back again to Roland Garros and playing on Philippe Chatrier," the Spaniard told reporters. "It was a bit windy on the court, so it was a bit difficult to hit the balls correctly, but I am happy, because I was focused [throughout] the whole match and very consistent, which is the most important thing."

Ferrer, who was beaten by Rafael Nadal in last year's final, will now face Italy's Simone Bolelli.
