Caroline Wozniacki confident ahead of Victoria Azarenka meeting

Caroline Wozniacki insists that she is not concerned about being forced to play Victoria Azarenka in the second round of the Australian Open.

Caroline Wozniacki has insisted that she is fully prepared for a difficult test ahead of her second-round clash with Victoria Azarenka at the Australian Open.

The Dane started her bid for the title in Melbourne by beating Taylor Townsend in straight sets on Tuesday, and she is relishing the opportunity to play two-time champion Azarenka, who is unseeded for the tournament after struggling with injuries last year.

"It's going to be tough. She's won here before. Not the easiest on paper, but at the same time I'm just going to focus on myself, my own game. Honestly, whether you have to beat her in the second round or fourth round, whatever, doesn't matter if you want to win the tournament," Wozniacki told members of the media.

When asked about the confidence she would gain from a win, the former number one added: "I'll take confidence in any win I get. I'm looking forward to a good match hopefully. We'll take it from there."

Azarenka booked her spot in round two with a 6-3 6-2 win over Sloane Stephens.
