Andreas Seppi: 'Roger Federer win was one of my best'

Andreas Seppi says that he had to be at his best to beat Roger Federer and progress to the Australian Open fourth round.

Andreas Seppi has said that he needed to play his best tennis in order to beat Roger Federer today.

The Italian overcame Federer for the first time in 11 attempts with a four-set victory as he progressed to the Australian Open fourth round, and he said that he wouldn't have won had he not brought his best game.

He told reporters: "I enjoyed playing on centre court again. It is not often that I get a chance to play here so I just try to do my best and I think that was one of the best matches for sure, otherwise I wouldn't win against Roger. So it was great to play in front of a full stadium.

"It's never comfortable playing against Roger, you never can be comfortable but, as I said, I was focusing on my service games and I didn't have many chances on his serve so I just focused on mine and it was very tiring, especially those last points."

Seppi will play either Nick Kyrgios or Malek Jaziri in the next round.
