Tomas Berdych: 'Dani Vallverdu partnership is advantage'

Seventh seed Tomas Berdych admits that being coached by Andy Murray's former coach Dani Vallverdu is an advantage ahead of their Australian Open semi-final.

Tomas Berdych has insisted that he will not alter his pre-match preparations for his Australian Open semi-final against Andy Murray.

The seventh seed is coached by Murray's former coach Dani Vallverdu, and although the Czech hitter admits that it is an advantage to have Vallverdu alongside him, he doesn't intend on tinkering with a setup that have proven successful in Melbourne.

The 29-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Definitely it might be an advantage for us, but that's how it is.

"What is more important is to be prepared for that match, to be ready, to set up the plan, and try to execute it on the court.

"Really the preparation is exactly the same like for all my past opponents so far here. I'm not going to change anything else with that."

Berdych ended a 17-match losing streak against Rafael Nadal to earn his place in the last four.
