Tin-Tin Ho: 'First time in front of home crowd a great experience'

Team England table tennis athlete Tin-Tin admits that she enjoyed her first competition in front of a home crowd, despite being on the losing side against Malaysia.

Team England table tennis competitor Tin-Tin Ho has played down her team's defeat at the hands of Malaysia in the women's team quarter-final at the Commonwealth Games, claiming that her maiden showing in front of a home crowd was a "great experience".

With the match scoreline delicately poised at 2-2, the 15-year-old took a 2-0 lead against Ng Sock Kim in the final game, but went on to lose 11-8, which saw the Malaysians advance to the semi-finals.

Ho told reporters after the match: "I just tried not to think about anything except how to win the point, instead of worrying because I was up. I think being up made me worry a little bit, but I still felt quite confident and I thought I could do it.

"[The atmosphere] was really good, I've never played in front of a home crowd before this so it was a great experience. I will just have to learn from the experience and move forward."

The table tennis women's semi-finals will take place this afternoon, with Singapore taking on India and Malaysia facing Australia.
