Alison Waters "very disappointed" to miss bronze

Alison Waters says that she is bitterly disappointed to miss out on winning a bronze medal for England in squash.

England's Alison Waters has said that she is "very disappointed" after missing out on a bronze medal in the squash's singles event at the Commonwealth Games today.

Waters was denied a podium finish as New Zealand's Joelle King beat her 11-7 11-7 11-5 to seal third place in Glasgow this afternoon.

"I'm very disappointed. She was just the better player on the day and it just wasn't to be," she told BBC Sport.

"I'm just really looking forward to the doubles now and I want to put this behind me. We've trained lots over the summer and it's coming together nicely."

The 30-year-old will team up with Peter Barker for the mixed doubles event later this week.
