Laura Massaro addresses need to relax in quarter-finals

Laura Massaro admits that she must allow herself to relax after booking her spot in the quarter-finals of the Commonwealth Games.

Laura Massaro has suggested that she must relax in the quarter-finals to continue her winning streak after beating Nicolette Fernandes at the Commonwealth Games on Friday.

An 11-7 7-11 11-4 15-13 triumph over her Guyana rival was enough to secure her progress into the last eight, but the 30-year-old believes that there is still room for improvement.

"There was frustration with myself and the fact I wasn't playing very freely, I wasn't really flowing," Massaro told Team England's official website. "I don't want to be playing when I'm not really enjoying it, I want to be enjoying my squash. It's about trying to relax.

"I'll go through my debrief, put the game to bed and then move on to the quarters."

Massaro is looking to add to the silver medal she won in the doubles four years ago in Delhi.
