Steve Davis loses tour card

Snooker legend Steve Davis loses his tour card after being knocked out of the World Championship qualifiers.

Six-time snooker world champion Steve Davis has lost his tour card after finishing outside the top 64 money earners.

The 56-year-old lost at the World Championship qualifiers, subsequently losing his place on the professional tour.

Davis has already said that he will play the European Tour events this season, and intends to enter Q School, where he will battle it out with 150 players for eight two-year tour cards.

He could also opt to play on the Players Tour championship in an effort to win his place back on the main tour.

Davis has won 28 ranking titles during his career including his six world titles between 1981 and 1989.
