Ahead of this weekend's clash with Ireland, Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw insists that his side's aim is to win the Six Nations title.

Scrum-half Greig Laidlaw has insisted that Scotland are "desperate" to beat Ireland at Murrayfield on Sunday and challenge for the Six Nations title.

The Scots bounced back from a 38-18 defeat to England in their championship opener to beat Italy 34-10 a fortnight ago.

"It's everybody's goal to win the tournament," said Laidlaw. "Everyone wants to win the Six Nations. That's why we are here.

"We are where we are. We have won one game. Now we want to win a second.

"We don't have a good record at home to Ireland in recent years, but we want to change that, that's for sure. We desperately want to win on Sunday and start improving on that record."

Scotland have never won the Six Nations, which launched in 2000.
