London Irish 29-22 Exeter
London Irish move up to third in the Aviva Premiership table with today's victory over Exeter Chiefs.

Tom Homer was in good form with the boot as London Irish recorded a 29-22 victory over Exeter Chiefs at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon.

The 21-year-old scored four penalties before the break, while he also converted a third-minute try from centre Joe Ansbro.

Exeter's Argentine fly-half Ignacio Mieres kept the visitors in touch during the opening 40 minutes with three penalties as Irish held a 19-9 lead at the half-time whistle.

Irish's Shontayne Hape extended the home side's lead in 46th minute with a try, which Homer converted.

However, a converted try by Luke Arscott reduced the arrears as Exeter went about closing the gap.

Homer missed a penalty on the hour mark and Mieres went on to punish his misjudgement by scoring a penalty to bring Exeter to within four points of Irish.

With stoppage time approaching Homer made up for his earlier error by scoring a long-range penalty to seal the win.

Irish have moved up to third in the Aviva Premiership table with today's victory.
