Tom Heathcote leaves Bath for Edinburgh

Scotland fly-half Tom Heathcote joins Edinburgh from Bath on a one-year contract.

Edinburgh have signed Scotland fly-half Tom Heathcote from Bath on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old had 12 months remaining on his contract at the Recreation Ground, but he has been allowed to switch clubs ahead of next season.

Heathcote came through the ranks at Bath before making his first-team debut in 2011.

"I'm really excited about joining Edinburgh Rugby, to play for them in the PRO12 and European Rugby Challenge Cup, and to play where I want to be internationally," he told the club's official website.

"I've followed the club quite closely for a number of seasons and have seen the improvements made this year. I think it's a club that's in a good position to push on."

Heathcote, who represented England at Under-20 level, won the first of three caps for Scotland back in 2012.
