Tom Heathcote delighted by Sam Burgess arrival

Bath fly-half Tom Heathcote believes that the signing of Sam Burgess "speaks volumes" for the club's ambitions.

Bath fly-half Tom Heathcote has claimed that the signing of Sam Burgess "speaks volumes" for the club's ambitions.

Burgess, 25, agreed a cross-code switch from South Sydney Rabbitohs on Monday.

He is due to join up with his new teammates at the Recreation Ground in October.

"I am sure he will have had the pick of the Premiership clubs and the fact that he wanted to come to Bath speaks volumes of the setup we've got here and the where the club is going," Heathcote is quoted as saying by The Bath Chronicle.

"It also shows the ambition of the club. They are looking for the very best players to come in."

Bath continue their league campaign on Saturday when they entertain London Wasps.
