Robbie Deans admits Australia injury worries

Robbie Deans admits that he has a considerable injury list ahead of Australia's third-place play-off with Wales.

Australia coach Robbie Deans has revealed that he faces an injury dilemma ahead of his team's Rugby World Cup bronze play-off game against Wales on Friday.

"It's very likely there will be change, quite simply off the back of the burden that the core group have had," Deans said.

The Wallabies came out of a bruising 6-20 loss to New Zealand with a host of injury worries.

"There are some pretty battered bodies and we are waiting for a full report from the medical staff," he added

"Sekope Kepu has been in hospital having an eye checked out. Kurtley Beale will be assessed but we won't risk him if he is not right. Dan Vickerman is quite sore, Pat McCabe has had a couple of tough weeks and Stephen Moore took a knock to his knee.

"We will consider form as well but you have to start with the fit bodies and work from there."

Deans will name his squad later this week.
