Late push gives Wigan Warriors win over Widnes Vikings

Wigan Warriors need two late tries to win a closely-fought Super League match against Widnes Vikings 20-10.

Wigan Warriors have increased their hold on third place in the Super League table with a 20-10 win over Widnes Vikings at the DW Stadium.

Josh Charnley ensured that the home side made a bright start, scoring the opening try of the match less than two minutes after kickoff, but efforts from Chris Dean and Tom Gilmore put Widnes ahead.

Wigan were back on level terms by half time though as Joe Burgess collected his own kick forward before diving over between the posts.

Both sides had chances to add to their scores in the second half, but it was the Warriors who finally edged ahead inside the final 10 minutes when Charnley set up Ryan Hampshire for a try.

Anthony Gelling put the win beyond doubt in the final moments, scoring Wigan's fourth try of the match.
