Hull Kingston Rovers prevented Huddersfield Giants from going top of the Super League with a 40-22 win at New Craven Park this afternoon.
Huddersfield would have moved above Warrington Wolves with victory and took an early lead courtesy of a Luke George try.
Rovers responded quickly with a score from Liam Watts but the Giants soon regained control of the match with two tries in the space of six minutes.
Firstly Scott Grix crossed the line following poor defensive play before Greg Eden touched down to give his side an 18-6 advantage.
However Hull surprised their high-flying opponents by levelling proceedings before the break with a quickfire double of their own.
David Hodgson and Kris Wellham both crossed and when Michael Dobson successfully added the conversions, the teams were equal at 18-18 at half time.
Josh Hodgson scored a try four minutes into the second period and when Scott Taylor, Sam Latus and Mickey Paea added further scores, Hull had established an unassailable lead.
With the result, Huddersfield remain in second place while Hull climb a position to ninth.
