Boxer Tyson Fury reveals ambitions to become MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale

British boxer Tyson Fury reveals that he has ambitions to become MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale.

Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has revealed that he wants to become the MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale.

The 27-year-old, whose fight against Wladimir Klitschko was postponed last week, is hopeful that he can make a difference in his constituency.

Fury, who would stand as an Independent, is planning to meet with Lancashire County Council with the hope of being elected in five years' time.

"I want to make a change for the better for the place I live," Fury told BBC News. "I believe that I will succeed because of the influence I have over the people from the town.

"What about people who are born and bred here? We need to build on the foundations we have steadily to make change. I feel that coming from a travelling background, I am used to politics and arguing."

The constituency is currently held by Conservative David Morris.
