Protestors interrupt Ryan Lochte's 'Dancing with the Stars' performance

Two protestors try to storm the stage while disgraced USA swimmer Ryan Lochte performs on Dancing with the Stars.

American Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte witnessed two protestors trying to ruin his appearance on reality TV show Dancing with the Stars on Monday night.

The 32-year-old is currently serving a 10-month suspension from competitive swimming after falsely claiming that he was robbed at gunpoint while at the Olympics in Rio.

It later emerged that he and his teammates Gunnar Bentz, Jimmy Feigen and Jack Conger were confronted by a security guard after vandalising a bathroom in a petrol station.

In his first public appearance since the incident, Lochte performed live on ABC's reality show, which is the American version of Strictly Come Dancing.

After the swimmer performed the foxtrot to song 'Call Me Irresponsible' with his dance partner, ABC cut to an advert when two protestors tried to storm the stage.

Lochte, who could be heard saying "chill pill" before the live feed was cut, later told reporters that he "felt a little hurt" and added: "So many feelings are going through my head right now, but I came out here. I wanted to do something I'm completely not comfortable with, and I did."

According to The Guardian, Los Angeles police spokesman Mike Lopez confirmed that two men - wearing anti-Lochte T-shirts - were arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing.
