Worthing United footballers killed in Shoreham Airshow plane crash

Worthing United players Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt are named as victims of Saturday's Shoreham Airshow plane crash in West Sussex.

Two footballers have been confirmed as victims of Saturday's Shoreham Airshow plane crash in West Sussex.

Worthing United players Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt were on their way to play in a match against Loxwood FC when they were caught up in the incident.

A Hawker Hunter plane failed to complete a loop-the-loop at the air show and descended into the A27, with seven confirmed fatalities.

Mark Sanderson, Worthing United FC secretary and vice chairman, is quoted by The Telegraph as saying: "The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with those whose families and friends were killed or injured at the Shoreham Airshow crash."

Air crash investigators and emergency services will continue to search the crash scene on Sunday, with police fearing that there may be more casualties.
