Jose Mourinho: 'I don't have to justify squad selection to journalists'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hits out at a reporter who asked him why Gary Cahill was benched ahead of the Blues' Premier League visit to West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit out at a reporter asking him about a player's omission ahead of a game, claiming that 'it's his decision'.

Prior to the Blues' visit of West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, the Sky Sports News interviewer asked the Portuguese boss why Gary Cahill was dropped to the bench in favour of Kurt Zouma.

Mourinho retorted: "I knew this question was coming, because you're interested in the players not playing. So next week, instead of the lineup we will give the names of the players who don't start. I don't have to tell you [why I picked Zouma], it's my decision."

Chelsea went on to seal a 3-2 victory over the Baggies.
