BBC comedian Lee Nelson charged for Manchester City prank

BBC comedian Lee Nelson is reportedly charged for invading a pitch posing as a Manchester City player.

BBC comedian Lee Nelson, real name Simon Brodkin, has reportedly been charged by police for invading a pitch before Manchester City's Premier League match against Everton.

The 35-year-old posed as a City player ahead of their 2-0 defeat to the Toffees by sneaking onto the pitch to train alongside the English champions.

The comedian, who was eventually spotted and led away from the pitch, has been charged under the Football Offences Act and will appear in court on April 3, according to the Daily Star.

Brodkin is thought to have been impersonating his football alter-ego Jason Bent.
