Istanbul's Ataturk Stadium to host 2020 Champions League final

The Champions League final will return to Istanbul's Ataturk Stadium in 2020, 15 years after hosting one of its most famous games between Liverpool and AC Milan.

The Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul has been named as the host venue for the 2020 Champions League final.

UEFA announced the decision in the lead-up to the 2018 edition between Real Madrid and Liverpool, which is to be held in Kiev.

Liverpool triumphed on the previous occasion the showpiece event was staged in the Turkish city, famously beating AC Milan on penalties in 2005 after a 3-3 draw.

The ground has a capacity of 76,000, making it the largest in Turkey, and has previously been the home of Galatasaray, Besiktas and Istanbul Basaksehir.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the 2020 Europa League final will be played in the Polish city of Gdansk, with that year's Super Cup being awarded to Portugal's Estadio do Dragao.
