Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez laughs off a jibe from a Spanish journalist, who mocks the player on Twitter by suggesting that the club are stuck with him.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez has laughed off criticism from a Spanish journalist on Twitter.

The 27-year-old was targeted by Juan Esteban RG, who mocked the midfielder by suggesting that he was unhappy that Atletico failed to sell the player during the summer transfer window.

Esteban wrote: "It's all fun and games until you realise the transfer market has closed and Mario Suarez is still around."

Suarez responded to the journalist by tweeting: "And I carry on laughing every day thanks to people like you...6 titles defending you and the fans my friend!"

The Spaniard has been an Atletico player since 2010.
