Graeme McDowell's hand injury will not force him to miss the rest of the golf season, says his manager Conor Ridge.

Graeme McDowell's manager has revealed that the Northern Irishman will play in the Australian Masters, despite slamming his hand in a hotel door.

It was last week reported that the 2010 US Open champion could miss the remainder of the season with the injury, which he sustained following his second-round 75 at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China.

However, manager Conor Ridge has now said that he is looking forward to playing in Australia on November 15.

"He's looking forward to going to Australia, he hasn't played there for a long time," Sky Sports News quotes Ridge as saying.

McDowell will appear in two further tournaments before the end of the year - the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and the World Challenge in California.
