Sergio Garcia pleased to only need 17 holes

Sergio Garcia admits that pressure on the back nine helped him beat Bill Haas in the second round of the WGC World Match Play Championship.

Sergio Garcia admitted that he was pleased to finish his work early after beating Bill Haas with a hole to spare in the second round of the WGC World Match Play Championship.

The Spaniard was forced to fight back from two down to claim a 3&1 victory just 24 hours after needing extra holes to knock out Marc Leishman in the opening round.

"I thought he played really, really well early on," Garcia told reporters at Dove Mountain.

"Then I was able to go on a very nice run from the eighth hole onward, put on a little bit of pressure and very pleased with just playing 17 today."

Garcia will play Rickie Fowler in the last 16 of the competition.
