World champion Sebastian Vettel has revealed that he takes booing from the fans as a compliment following his latest installment of receiving a negative reception.
The Red Bull driver was given an unfavourable response on the podium by the crowd on Sunday after winning the Singapore Grand Prix.
"They are on a tour - they go around on a bus," Vettel told Sky Sports News. "I don't have to do anything. Some people like what we do, some people don't.
"If they boo, it's a compliment - that's the way I take it, they are jealous because I win. It seems as if they are on a tour and they are wealthy enough to come on flights to Singapore."
Vettel is 53 points clear at the top of the drivers' rankings.
