Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has claimed that his team have been targeted by their Formula 1 rivals in the debate over the future development of engines.
The constructors' champions have been under fire for opposing any move to improve power units during the season, despite attempts by the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari to relax the current rules.
However, Wolff believes that the attitude of their opponents is due to the Silver Arrows' rise to supremacy in 2014.
He told Autosport: "We have barely won one Championship and we are already faced with multiple tsunamis hitting us from all sides in order to restore the order. That is what history shows us with McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull.
"You have seen it in the past with Red Bull that they have transitioned from a cool little team and were seen as something different. You get the momentum against you and that is what happens.
"But we want to be fair and respect the rules. There is a governance in place and rules in place, and there is nothing else we want to follow."
Earlier this week, Wolff insisted that the Silver Arrows will not change their approach to racing after wrapping up the constructors' title at last weekend's Russian Grand Prix.
