Graham Westley admits that he is keen to add Wycombe Wanderers striker Stuart Beavon to his Preston North End squad.

Preston North End manager Graham Westley has revealed that he has submitted a bid for Wycombe Wanderers striker Stuart Beavon.

The 28-year-old scored 25 goals last season as Wanderers were relegated to League Two.

However, Westley is hoping that the centre-forward will accept his offer to remain in League One for the forthcoming campaign.

"We've made a bid, that's no secret," he told BBC Radio Lancashire. "We're hoping that Stuart will come here and be part of what we're doing.

"He's a big asset. Negotiations are ongoing, we're hopeful they'll come to a conclusion and it would be great to have him at this football club."

Beavon joined Wycombe from Weymouth in 2009.
