Wolverhampton Wanderers have been cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table following today's 3-2 loss at home to Bolton Wanderers.

The hosts dominated large parts of the opening 45 minutes, but Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan produced good saves to deny numerous efforts from Steven Fletcher in particular.

Visiting Bolton created a clearcut chance two minutes after the restart when Ryo Michayi crossed from the byline. However, David Wheater sent his headed effort wide of target.

Wheater's miss was punished six minutes later when Wolves winger Michael Kightly cut inside Mikel Alonso before shooting past Bogdan from the edge of the area.

However, a penalty from Martin Petrov drew Bolton level, before Alonso headed the away side in front in the 80th minute.

Captain Kevin Davies made sure of the points in the 84th minute when he scored from close range.

Matt Jarivs did manage to pull one back for Wolves in the 88th minute, but it proved to be little more than a consolation strike.
