Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy is happy with his side's "huge" 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has described his side's 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers as "huge".

Matt Jarvis and substitute Kevin Doyle sealed the win for the visitors after debutant Bobby Zamora gave the home side the lead.

However, QPR striker Djibril Cisse was sent off in the first half for raising his hands in retaliation to Roger Johnson.

When asked how big a win it was for his side, McCarthy told BBC Sport: "Huge. It was a fabulous response [to Wednesday's defeat to Liverpool]. We got a bit of luck with the sending-off. I don't like those sendings-off, to be honest, but we have had them.

"Sometimes you get a bit of good fortune by a bad decision the opposite way."

Wolves have moved out of the relegation zone and into 17th with the win.
